Honouring the Hearts That Inspire and Educate
St George’s School Primary section celebrated Teachers’ Day 2026 with love, gratitude and joy on 26th September 2026 at the Parish Hall from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
The celebration themed “Honouring the hearts that inspire and educate” was a heartfelt tribute to our dedicated teachers who inspire, teach, motivate and empower us every day.
The event commenced at 1:30pm with the arrival of guests, teachers and students, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the School Song, filling the hall with pride and unity. The ceremony proceeded with a prayer recital by Ustaz Mohidin.
The programme continued with speeches. Our Deputy Principal, Mr Luxman Satchithanthan, delivered an inspiring address, appreciating the commitment and patience of all teachers. In his speech, the Deputy Principal reminded the students that “the best gift you can give your teacher is to listen when they are teaching, to try your best and be respectful, to treat your classmates with kindness and learn from your mistakes”.
In his closing speech, he expressed appreciation to the teachers and reminded the teachers “the difference you make in a child’s life, last a lifetime”.
This was followed by a touching speech by the Student Representative from Year 6A, Asfim who expressed sincere thanks on behalf of all students.
The highlight of the day was the colourful stage performances by our talented students: welcoming dance by Year 5B, group singing Happy Teachers’ Day by Year 2A and 5A, Bumblebee dance by Year 2B, group singing Thank You Teacher by Year 3A, Loca dance by Year 1B, Hawaiian Hula-hula by Year 3B, The Honest Little Rabbit storytelling by Year 1A, solo song by Year 6A and Kicau Mania group dance by Year 4B.
Each performance was filled with enthusiasm and love for our teachers.
This was followed by the Appreciation Ceremony where tokens of appreciation were presented to all teachers as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication, patience and inspiration. A group photo session was held to capture the memorable moments.
The celebrations concluded with refreshments at the respective classrooms.
Truly, to teach is to touch a life forever. The celebration was a beautiful reminder of the invaluable role teachers play in shaping young minds.
