St. George's School presented cash donations to 15 students from its primary and secondary sessions at a special ceremony held on 11th August 2012.
Prior to the event, a campaign had been carried out to collect donations from the staff, teachers and students with the aim of sharing the upcoming Hari Raya festive joy with the less fortunate students.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the doa led by d. Wafiq bin Kifli of Year 8B.
On hand to present the donations were the President of the St George's School Board of Governors, Bishop Cornelius Sim, and the Principal, Mr. Song Kin Fha.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Principal, Mr. N. M. Mubarak and Head of Secondary, Mdm Chew Lai Kwan, teachers, parents and pupils.
On behalf of the orphaned students, Linda Yeo of Year 9B delivered a moving speech of thanks to the entire school for their generous donations and remembering the less fortunate in this time of joyous celebration.
