Academic Matters

  1. Students are to always work, to the best of their ability and present work properly for both the schoolwork and homework given.

  2. Students who do not complete their assignments and who do not regularly bring their proper books for lessons will be reprimanded appropriately.

  3. Handbook must be brought into school of all times.

Attendance and Punctuality

  1. A student can accumulate a maximum of 30 days of absences and late coming for the whole year in order to obtain at least 85% attendance. A student who does not meet this requirement of 85% attendance will not be eligible for promotion.

  2. A student is required to be punctual. A student who is late will be marked L in the school register.

  3. Any student who is absent and brings in a medical certificate will be marked P in the school register. These days will be considered as absent with permission.

  4. A student who is planning on taking a long leave of absence should inform the school authorities and settle all fees due up to his/her return. A student who has tailed to do so is liable to have his/her name removed from the school register.

  5. Students are not encouraged to take leave during school days.

Cleanliness

  1. Students should always maintain a clean and conductive environment for studies in the classroom and school compound.

  2. Students are not to litter in the school compound especially during recess.

  3. All food remains are to be disposed of properly in the bins provided for this purpose.

  4. Classrooms should be swept before lessons start and at the the end of the day.

Exams/Assessments

  1. Students should prepare well for tests, assignments and/or examinations and should never resort to cheating or copying.

  2. Any student caught copying/cheating will not be given marks for that paper and may be disqualified from the test, assignment and/or examination.

  3. The use of toilet facilities are prohibited during examinations and tests (unless in emergency situations)

Inappropriate Behaviour

  1. A student must adhere to the general roles and responsibilities.

  2. Misconduct will be dealt with appropriately by the Student Welfare School Committee.

  3. The following behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in a student being suspended from school:

  1. aggressive behaviour towards school authorities and/or fellow school/class mates

  2. possessing illegal and/or unlawful materials

  3. vandalism

  4. cutting / escaping classes and/or school

  5. leaving school premises without permission

  6. smoking or consuming drugs within school premises (refer to Note)

  7. fighting, gambling and/or stealing

  8. inappropriate behaviour between male and female students

  1. Students who wish to leave the classroom for a few minutes should get a permission tag from the subject teacher as evidence that permission has been granted.

  2. Students who wish to leave the school premises for appointments should approach any member of the Student Welfare Committee and get the permission slip signed and recorded.

  3. Students are not allowed to remain in the classrooms during break.

  4. Teachers reserve the right to carry out 'spot checks' on students' bags.

  5. Students should not loiter in public places.

  6. Chewing gums is prohibited in school.

  7. The use of mobile phones is prohibited. Students are allowed to use their mobile phones only after school hours. 

  8. Outside food is not allowed in the school premises.

Note: As long as students are in the school uniform whether within or outside school premises he/she must abide by the student's roles and responsibilities.

Personal Appearance

  1. The general appearance of students must always be neat and proper.

  2. Boys School Uniform.

  1. Smart grey long trousers and white short/long sleeved shirts with collar. Shirts are to be tucked in at all times.

  2. Students are required to wear the school badge at all levels with their school uniform.

  3. Black songkok for Muslim boys.

  4. White socks and black shoes.

  5. No caps/hats are allowed. No ornaments/accessories. Religious ornaments can be worn discreetly.

  6. For Kindergarten and Pra pupils, Bermuda style grey shorts and white shorts sleeved shirts.

  1. Girls School Uniform.

  1. White 'baju kurong' and brown sarong.

  2. White 'baju jurong', brown sarong ang white tudung/scarf for Muslim girls.

  3. Ankle length skirts, white short/long sleeved blouses netaly tucked in for non-Muslim only.

  4. White socks and black shoes.

  5. Students are required to wear the school badge at all times. badge to be attached to the tudung for Muslim girls.

  6. No ornaments/accessories (inclusive of nail polish) except for single studs or small loops for the ears. No gypsy style or dangling earrings. Religious ornaments can be worn discreetly.

  7. For Kindergarten and Pra pupils, brown knee length skirts and white short for sleeved blouses.

  1. During PE and/or ECA, students are required to wear their appropriate house colours (School T-shirt) and long black track/jogging pants. And white socks and sport shoes.

  2. Hair

  1. Hairstyles and haircuts must be neat and simple. It must not fall over the face covering the eyes. The fringe must be above the eyebrows.

  2. For boys, the length of the hair must not touch the collar of their shirts.

  3. For girls, hair that is below the shoulders should be tied back neatly. Only plain black hair bands or ribbons or clips should be used.

  4. Students are not allowed to dye, tint, colour, bleach or highlight their hair.

  5. Hairstyles and haircuts with excessive shaving, sideburns, jagged ends (spikes) and `tails' are not allowed.

  1. Fingernails

    1. Fingernails must be kept neat and short and no nail polish is allowed.

  2. Students are not allowed to wear sunglasses or tinted spectacles to school.

  3. During extra/special classes, students should be in full school uniform.

  4. Action will be taken by the Discipline Committee if any student breeches the above.

Personal Etiquette

  1. Students must always be respectful to all teachers and visitors. 

  2. Students are to be respectful to fellow students and to show courtesy and consideration to all irrespective of their ethnic origin, colour and belief.

  3. Students are to uphold the school name. They should always be on their best behaviour both in and outside school, and when representing the school in any activities. 

Students should always strive to improve themselves by giving their best in academic work and in their behaviour.
